India’s current PIN code system, introduced in 1972, was a big step forward — but it assigns the same code to a main post office and all nearby branch offices. This works well for large regions, but not for precise location mapping in today’s digital world.

When you look up sun information for your location, you may see terms like sunrise, sunset, and different types of twilight. Here a simple breakdown of what each term means — so you can better understand your local daylight conditions.
- 🌅 Sunrise: Sunrise is the time when the sun first appears above the horizon in the morning. It marks the beginning of the day and is the moment the upper edge of the sun becomes visible.
- 🌇 Sunset: Sunset is when the sun dips below the horizon in the evening. It signals the end of daylight and the start of the night.
- 🌤️ Solar Noon (Transit): Transit, also known as solar noon, is the time when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky. It usually occurs around noon, but the exact time can vary based on your location.

Twilight is the time between night and day when the sky is partially lit, but the sun is below the horizon. There are three types of twilight:
